Everything you need to prepare the soil, overseed thin areas, establish stronger new grass and winterize your cool-season lawn.

How It Works

This bundle takes your cool season lawn through the complete fall repair process:

  1. Prepare: Mow the lawn slightly shorter, rake away debris and apply Aeroflow to loosen compacted soil.
  2. Seed: Spread North Star Tall Fescue Seed to bare patches in late summer/early fall.
  3. Establish: Keep the soil consistently moist and apply Total Lawn Starter Fertilizer about one week after seeding to support new growth.
  4. Winterize: Apply Cold Snap in late fall, once new grass is established and prior to dormancy.

Each liquid product comes with a hose-end sprayer. Simply connect it to your garden hose and spray—no special lawn equipment required. North Star Seed should be applied with a handheld or broadcast spreader.

Why Cool Season Overseed & Repair Bundle?

Fall is the best time to repair cool season lawns. Warm soil supports germination, cooler air reduces stress on new seedlings and fewer summer weeds compete for space.

This coordinated system helps you do more than simply spread seed. Aeroflow prepares the soil for better seed-to-soil contact, North Star fills thin and bare areas, Total Lawn supports establishment, and Cold Snap strengthens the lawn before winter.

The liquid lawn treatments use naturally derived ingredients and are designed with families and pets in mind. Applications take about 15 minutes with your garden hose.

This bundle is best for cool season lawns with fescue, bluegrass or ryegrass. It is not intended for warm-season lawns or lawns receiving fall pre-emergent weed control.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this bundle right for my grass type?
This bundle is designed for cool-season lawns, including tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass. These grasses are most common in northern parts of the United States. It is not intended for Bermuda, zoysia or St. Augustine lawns. Not sure about your grass type? Check out our guide to identifying your grass type.

When should I use this bundle?
Begin the process in the late summer or early fall while soil temperatures remain above approximately 55°F. Depending on your location, that is generally between late August and October. Apply Cold Snap later in the fall, usually in late October or early November, when soil temperatures reach the upper-to-mid 40s.

How much lawn does one bundle cover?
One bundle treats approximately 3,000 sq. ft. Purchase two bundles for up to 6,000 sq. ft. or three for up to 9,000 sq. ft.

Do I apply everything at once?

No. Apply Aeroflow first, then spread North Star Seed. Apply Total Lawn approximately one week after seeding. Save Cold Snap for later in the fall, once the new grass is established and growth has begun to slow.

How often should I water after overseeding?
Keep the surface of the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge, typically with light watering once or twice daily depending on the weather. Once the new grass is established, transition to deeper, less frequent watering.

How long does the seed take to germinate?
You may begin seeing new grass in approximately 7–14 days, although some areas can take up to 21 days depending on soil temperature, moisture and seed-to-soil contact.

Do I need to aerate before overseeding?
Loosening compacted soil improves seed-to-soil contact and gives new roots room to grow. Aeroflow provides an easy liquid alternative to mechanical aeration for moderately compacted lawns. Heavily compacted soil may also benefit from core aeration.

Can I use weed control while overseeding?
Avoid pre-emergent weed-control products during the overseeding window because they can prevent grass seed from germinating. If you need to treat visible weeds, check the product label carefully and allow the required time before seeding.

Is it safe for kids and pets?
Lawnbright’s liquid lawn treatments use naturally derived ingredients and are designed with families and pets in mind. Follow each product label and keep children and pets off the treated area until the application has dried.

How should I store the products if I’m not ready to apply them?
Store the seed in a cool, dry place and keep liquid products sealed, upright and protected from freezing or extreme heat.
