Weed Wipeout Pre-Emergent Weed Control

Weed Wipeout is most effective in early spring and fall, when soil temperatures are around 50 degrees.

1. Attach the included hose-end sprayer to your hose.
2. When soil temp is around 50 degrees and weed seeds are about to germinate (early spring in most zones), apply evenly across your lawn.
3. Do not irrigate for at least 24 hours after application — let the formula settle.
4. For best protection, re-apply every ~2 months during the active germination season.

Note: This is a pre-emergent product — meaning it prevents new weeds from forming. It will not eliminate weeds you already see. For existing weed problems use our Broadleaf Weed Control.

What do I do if weeds are already growing on my lawn?

Weed Wipeout can still be effective in preventing future weeds, but if you are already seeing weeds, you may have passed the ideal window for pre-emergent. You can use a natural post-emergent to target weeds, or hand pull them. You can also work on growing healthier turf and overseeding if you can. A healthy turf helps to crowd out weeds.

I applied Weed Wipeout, but I still see some weeds. What gives?

While Weed Wipeout helps to reduce the growth of future weeds, it will not eliminate them completely. That’s nature for you! That said, if you are seeing a lot of weed growth, you may have missed the ideal window for pre-emergent. Continuing to apply Weed Wipeout every two months during the growing season, and focusing on overseeding and crowding out weeds with healthy turf in the fall, will eliminate weeds in the long term.

What size lawn does a bottle of Weed Wipeout cover?

Each bottle covers about 1,500 square feet - about half the size of a tennis court. For reference, a 5,500 square foot lawn is about the size of a basketball court. This measurement does not include your house or landscaping features - just determine your lawn size by the amount of turf you are treating.

Is Weed Wipeout safe for my kids and pets?

Yes. All of our products, including Weed Wipeout, are made from natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals. This means that they are safe for your kids and pets, as well as better for the earth and your grass.

How long do I need to wait to let my dog play on the lawn?

We recommend watering first to reduce minor eye and skin irritation due to the pH of our products.

I have too much product. Can I save it for later?

Yes. Lawnbright products have a shelf life of 1 year, so you can store products in your garage, shed or basement for next season.
